Matthew L Perkins, MD, FAAP, FACP

Dr. Perkins founded the practice is 2000 with the goal of providing comprehensive healthcare across all age groups. Being board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics allows Dr. Perkins to keep the patient as well as the entire family in perspective when overseeing and coordinating their healthcare needs. A partnership with patients and families for a coordinated, holistic approach to wellness is key. This is why all physicians at Tennessee Medicine & Pediatrics are board certified in both disciplines.

Mitchell A Pullias, MD

Dr Mitchell Pullias is a Murfreesboro native, a graduate to Oakland High School.  After graduating from Lipscomb University with a BA in chemistry, he attended the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Memphis where he earned his medical degree.  Dr. Pullias returned home to Rutherford County in 2003 to begin practicing with Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics.  He has been on several committees at Saint Thomas Rutherford hospital, including a term as pediatrics department chair.  Dr. Pullias loves spending time with his wife, children and their cats and dogs.  He enjoys all outdoor activities, but especially loves running, hiking, and camping with his family.

Felisa L Gilbert, MD, FAAP

Dr. Felisa Gilbert joined the practice in 2007.  She is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National and Tennessee Chapters of the American College of Physicians. 

Dr Gilbert is a native of Tennessee. She was born and raised in Chattanooga, earned her Bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis.  She completed her Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Los Angeles County- University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center.

Heather N Phillips, MD

Dr. Phillips grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in biology from Birmingham-Southern College and received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingam. She completed her combined residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University Hospital and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Phillips joined Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics in 2007.

Dr. Mallory Baker is a native Tennessean and grew up in Jackson, Tennessee. She moved to Middle Tennessee after graduating high school to attend college at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She then traveled back to Western Tennessee and completed her medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN.

Christian A Matar, MD

Dr. Christian Matar grew up in Lexington, KY, always knowing that he wanted to be a doctor. When he moved to Nashville to pursue a Biology degree from Lipscomb University, he fell in love with Middle Tennessee and with his Nashville Native wife, Rachel.  Dr. Matar earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky (go, Cats!), where he was privileged to learn from the compassion and excellence of several Med/Peds physicians.  With that inspiration, he completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med/Peds) at the University of Louisville, serving as Chief Resident during his final year of training.

Terri Meisamer, board certified nurse practitioner has served as a mid level provider with Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics since 2002.

Terri earned her associate degree in nursing from Columbia State Community College in 1982, her bachelor’s degree  from Tennessee Tech in 1994, and her master’s degree from Vanderbilt in 1996.

Amanda Cunningham is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics in 2018. She earned her registered nursing degree from North Georgia College and State University in 2010 followed by her master’s degree from Belmont in 2017.

Jessie Richmond is a board certified family nurse practitioner who joined TN medicine and pediatrics in January 2021. She earned her registered nursing degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2012 and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2020.

Before her nurse practitioner, Jessie has worked at Saint Thomas Rutherford for eight years in the medical and critical care settings.

Cassidy Hill is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics in 2022. Cassidy earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2018. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree from the University of South Alabama in 2021 where she was awarded the South Alabama Nursing Leadership Award.
