Dr. Perkins founded the practice in 2000 with the goal of providing comprehensive healthcare across all age groups. Being board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics allows Dr. Perkins to keep the whole person as well as the whole family in perspective when overseeing and coordinating the healthcare needs of his patients.
After earning his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and his medical degree from the University of Louisville, Dr. Perkins completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio.
With extensive experience treating adult and pediatric patients, Mitchell A. Pullias, M.D., joined Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics as an internist and pediatrician in 2003 and is a partner in the practice.
Dr. Pullias is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Physicians and the Tennessee Medical Association. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, and is a fellow of the Academy of Pediatrics.
As a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), Felisa L. Gilbert, M.D., has proven her commitment to continued learning and advocacy on behalf of children. In addition to her role as internist at Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics, Dr. Gilbert also provides her medical expertise as a preceptor in the Vanderbilt University Nurse Practitioner Program, as a physician consultant to the Schrader Lane Church of Christ and as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Middle Tennessee State University.Read more
Dr. Phillips grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Birmingham-Southern College and her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her combined residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University Hospital and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Baker grew up in Jackson, Tennessee. She then went on to complete her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Middle Tennessee State University. Following college, she attended medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee, where she received her medical degree. She most recently finished her combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky in June 2017. Dr. Christian Matar grew up in Lexington, KY, always knowing that he wanted to be a doctor. When he moved to Nashville to pursue a Biology degree from Lipscomb University, he fell in love with Middle Tennessee and with his Nashville Native wife, Rachel. Dr. Matar earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky (go, Cats!), where he was privileged to learn from the compassion and excellence of several Med/Peds physicians. With that inspiration, he completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med/Peds) at the University of Louisville, serving as Chief Resident during his final year of training.Read more
Terri Meisamer, board certified nurse practitioner has served as a mid level provider with Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics since 2002.
Terri earned her associate degree in nursing from Columbia State Community College in 1982, her bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Tech in 1994, and her master’s degree from Vanderbilt in 1996.
Amanda Cunningham is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics in 2018. She earned her registered nursing degree from North Georgia College and State University in 2010, and went on to earn her master’s degree from Belmont in 2017.
Amanda has inpatient experience as a Registered Nurse at Emory University Hospital, Centennial Medical Center and Northside Hospital in medical, surgical and cardiac settings. She also has outpatient nursing experience at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Jessie Richmond is a board certified family nurse practitioner who joined TN medicine and pediatrics in January 2021. She earned her registered nursing degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2012 and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2020.
Before her nurse practitioner, Jessie has worked at Saint Thomas Rutherford for eight years in the medical and critical care settings.
