Christian A Matar, MD

Christian A Matar, MD

Dr. Christian Matar grew up in Lexington, KY, always knowing that he wanted to be a doctor. When he moved to Nashville to pursue a Biology degree from Lipscomb University, he fell in love with Middle Tennessee and with his Nashville Native wife, Rachel.  Dr. Matar earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky (go, Cats!), where he was privileged to learn from the compassion and excellence of several Med/Peds physicians.  With that inspiration, he completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med/Peds) at the University of Louisville, serving as Chief Resident during his final year of training.

Dr. Matar is fascinated by the science of Medicine, and he has been recognized for his enthusiasm and ability to translate complex concepts for his patients and students. As exciting as he finds his subject matter, he knows that medicine is really just a tool. The best part of is job is that as a pediatrician and an internist, Dr. Matar gets to build relationships and help his patients navigate the unique challenges and joys of every season of their lives.

Dr. Matar’s hobbies mimic the intergenerational theme of his practice, as he enjoys playing golf and LEGOs with equal enthusiasm. He and Rachel love to spend their time surrounded by the wonderful people, music, food, and hills of Tennessee.
