As a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), Felisa L. Gilbert, M.D., has proven her commitment to continued learning and advocacy on behalf of children. In addition to her role as internist at Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics, Dr. Gilbert also provides her medical expertise as a preceptor in the Vanderbilt University Nurse Practitioner Program, as a physician consultant to the Schrader Lane Church of Christ and as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Middle Tennessee State University.
She joined the practice in 2007 after serving as a lead provider for HealthCare Partners Medical Group in Los Angeles and then for Centennial Pediatrics in Spring Hill, Tenn. Dr. Gilbert is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National and Tennessee Chapters of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Gilbert earned her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and her medical degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center.
Dr. Gilbert has two daughters and is actively involved in her community as a Sunday School teacher at her church and as an instructor for the Expanding Your Horizons Workshop, a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging young women to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers.
