A native of Frankfort, Kentucky and an Eagle Scout, Dr. Perkins earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in biochemistry and his medical degree from the University of Louisville. Dr. Perkins completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Perkins, along with the other physicians, is a member of the medical staff at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, StoneCrest Medical Center, and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. He enjoys appointments as volunteer clinical faculty to the Schools of Medicine at Vanderbilt and The University of Tennessee. He has long served on the boards of the Stones River Regional Independent Practice Association and the State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company. Currently, he serves as President of the Stones River Academy of Medicine and is active with The Tennessee Medical Association.
Dr. Perkins and his wife Mishelle attend North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro. He enjoys mission trips to Central America, various charity activities, is an avid hiker, amateur photographer, and gardener. He and his wife are proud parents of four grown children.
